Golden State Care Center provides services for clients with Alzheimer's and Dementia who need a safe and secure environment. These special needs are met with innovative programs, a specially designed facility, and quality and caring services. The Center offers comprehensive evaluations by physician gerontologists and geriatric psychiatrists. Nurses are on duty 24 hours a day. Rehabilitation services include physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies. We provide psychiatric therapies and medical services. Social service specialists help to meet the needs of residents and support their families.

The residents in our care are both ambulatory and non-ambulatory. Staff patrols all inside and outside areas around the clock, and is thoroughly trained to keep residents from unmonitored situations. Residents have free access to the outdoor recreation areas, however all exits from the perimeter of the building are locked to prevent residents from wandering out. Unobtrusive secure fences surround the outdoor areas, so residents can enjoy the serene country-like setting, majestic vistas of the Santa Susanna Mountains, and a flower-lined patio with outdoor seating and tree shaded lawns.

Residents are encouraged to actively enjoy every aspect of daily life. Activities such as music, dance and art therapies and physical exercise provide stimulation and enjoyment and encourage residents to use their cognitive, social and physical skills to their fullest potential. A healthy environment is provided and created by the nutritional and delicious ethnic food specialties, and on-site religious services.

Golden State Care Center is fully licensed to accept MediCare, Medi-Cal, many managed care plans and private pay residents. The facility reserves the right to screen all pre-admissions. The Center includes services for individuals with Alzheimer's-Dementia as well as those requiring Foley catheters, gastric tubes, incontinence, decubitus or wound care and protection from wandering.

Certain medical conditions would not be best served at this location. These include combative residents, patients who require IV therapy, are ventilator dependent, coma patients, those with brain injury, or those who require dialysis, have a tracheotomy or colostomy.
